Ann Baumgartner Design creates interiors which are comfortable, restrained, and sophisticated, with a modern flair. What was the overall vision for your space?
I wanted to bring the inside in. As there is no view, I selected the wallpaper to create an illusion of nature in an abstracted manner. The furnishings are connected to the mural in their color and the shapes of the furnishings either reflect or contrast with the curved mountain forms in the panoramic. The selection of wood elements in the room also brings in nature as does the selection of the blue accents, which represent the sky.

What’s your favorite thing about your space?
I like the floor plan and the mural. And I love how I was able to connect and relate the furnishings to the panoramic.

What advice would you give to homeowners regarding the key things to keep in mind when designing (your) space?
Always have a strong concept in mind. This goes for the overall house design and each individual room. Have a thread going throughout the house and bring that thread into each room.
