Hear from the Designer

How would you describe your design style and point of view?

I can work in almost any style, but I do love doing very creative, updated traditional, and fun and warm contemporary looks very much. I like looking at the space and letting it talk to me about what will work best. The angles on the ceiling called to me to color-drench the space and add even more dimensions to it. Go with what the room gives you, as opposed to fighting it

What drew you to this space, and what excited you most about designing it?

It is a departure for me to do a little girl’s room, since we generally do very adult projects. The challenge of doing something a little more fun, a little more clever, that’s just a bit over the top, is always a great challenge.

How did you balance beauty with real-life functionality?

In a space like this, it’s not hard. There’s only so much room in a small girl’s bedroom, so having a place to sit, a place to sleep, and adding beautiful and interesting things to the space so you have both functionality and real character of the space is super important, mostly because of the limited amount of space there is.
