For one Castle Pines homeowner, the team at Mosaic Outdoor Living designed and built a fully enclosed living extension that is usable year-round. As an attached extension to the home, the outdoor room allows the homeowners to enjoy every season comfortably within a beautiful environment. Complete with custom operable glass walls, infrared heating and lighting elements, the lounge, dining and conversation sections provide an enticing respite.
The expansive outdoor living area includes a kitchen and bar, separate dining, two fire features and multiple lounging spots. The enclosed patio is styled with Kichler ambient lighting while the functional glass walls provide an abundance of natural light. Adding comfort, infrared heaters are placed throughout the space. Mixed textures in furniture create an aesthetic appeal. Mimicking the overall architecture of the house, the new addition features an arched roof with an interior tongue and groove cedar ceiling.
Infrared heaters are intentionally positioned on the interior rim of the ceiling. Mosaic’s Sarah Nave says, “The infrared technology heats objects rather than the air, so a swift breeze won’t stand a chance against them.”
Merging traditional with contemporary, Mosaic Outdoor Living built two features. A traditional circular fire attraction, with a buff stone facade, is surrounded by circular lounge seating making for a perfect conversation retreat. The modern linear fire feature is uniquely built into a curved rail.
For year-round use, custom operable glass walls serve a dual purpose in providing protection from inclement weather and allowing the room to be fully opened to enjoy the natural beauty of the landscaping and allow cool breezes to flow through the area. Throughout the seasons, the glass walls provide unobstructed views.
4Furniture
Throughout the room, comfortable seating vignettes beckon guests to relax. Plush neutral-toned cushions adorn metal framed lounges and wicker chairs. Pillows and other accessories add a burst of color for seasonal interest.
5Appliances
Stainless steel cooking and storage cabinets line the stacked-stone kitchen island. The stylish and sleek Fire Magic Echelon series grill and burner provide a variety of cooking options. Built-in stainless drawers and cabinets add to the functionality of the island.
