Award-winning Broomfield Home Office Remodel by Rodwin Architecture + Skycastle Construction

When Scott Rodwin of Rodwin Architecture + Skycastle Construction was tasked with a top-to-bottom remodel of a spacious Broomfield home for a pair of serial entrepreneurs, four busy children, and pets, 95 percent of the house was gutted. Yet the award-winning home office with soaring 20-foot ceilings needed only a few finishing touches. Ample windows infuse the space with natural light and lovely views, and the existing custom spiral staircase anchors the room, giving it a contemporary look. Stately alder wood panels, which add warmth and acoustic fine-tuning, seemed dated until Kate Moore of Kimball Modern Interiors selected complementary decor in cool and neutral hues to tone down the paneling’s warmth. Modern furnishings include plush chairs by Design Within Reach, a glossy white desk by Room & Board, and marine-gray cabinets from BluDot. The broadloom wool rug from Star Flooring in Boulder was cut to fit the space. Contemporary artwork and greenery bring elegant form to function.
